7 Easy Ideas to Pamper You

If loving me is wrong I don’t want to be right.  Nowadays, I choose to lavishly love on me, because I am special and deserving of tender loving care. This was not always so, as I used to be caught up in the daily grind of life, and I forgot how important it was to love on me. If you have not been doing this yourself, I urge you to find ways to pamper you.

Consider, when was the last time you took some time to love upon you?   Or, when do you recall shutting down for a few hours or perhaps a day or a weekend or a week just to unwind? Are you aware you deserve a little me time?

Don’t Get Caught in the Hustle and Bustle of Life

It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, caring for spouse and children, running your business, progressing in your career, getting an advanced degree, a difficult work week, or simply caught up doing many projects that you don’t have time for yourself.  Sometimes we find time for everybody except ourselves.  The endless activities of wearing multiple hats eventually drain us.  We keep going and going like the energizer bunny in the advertisement whose battery seemingly never dies.

The human body was not designed to be treated like a battery operated bunny and sheer common sense tells us the energizer bunny will stop working, as batteries do have a life span.  Continuous activities without any break in-between will take its toll.  Busyness 24/7 can make you go bananas.  Even God rested from His activities on the seventh day when He established the new world.  He expects you to take care of the body He gave you.

Rest and relaxation is an approved self care activity.  Why not schedule time to love upon and pamper you?  Consider pampering as a reward to yourself for just being you.

Pampering Can be Simple and Inexpensive

Pampering yourself does not require a lot of money.  There are some simple inexpensive things you can do to love on you.

7 Easy Ideas to Pamper Yourself

A Bubblicious Bubble Bath

Take a Bubble Bath by yourself. Create a spa like feel at home. Fill the tub, pour your favourite essential oil, close the door, light some candles, turn on instrumental music eg Kenny G’s smooth jazz and lavish your body in soak and bubbles.

Indulge in a Decadent Treat

Buy a decadent treat for yourself, not to be shared with anyone but you.  It can be a box of delectable chocolate, an ice cream sundae or a slice of delicious cake; whatever makes you happy have it.  Indulge yourself.

Binge Watch Movies

Binge watch your favourite love movies all by yourself.  Get out the popcorn, a glass of wine and tissue, and go to town with “The Notebook”,  “Notting Hill”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “The Titanic” “Pride and Prejudice”, or just turn to Hallmark and enjoy the romance movies while you shed a tear or two.

A Great Novel

Read a great novel or a book in a genre of your choice.  Reading is extremely relaxing and engaging and a good way to de-stress after a long day.

Gourmet Cooking

Cook a gourmet meal.  These days everything can be searched on Google or watched on YouTube, you can learn a quick skill and act like a professional chef in your kitchen.  Food Network and the Cooking Channel are also great alternatives to enhance your cooking skills.  Take your “me time” and tantalize your taste buds with a delicious bite.

A Rejuvenating Foot Soak

A relaxing, rejuvenating foot soak with bath salts and essential oils is a fantastic way to tell your achy feet I love you at the end of a tiring day.

Girlfriend Date

Go on a girlfriend lunch date or dinner date; catch up on the latest happenings in each other’s life.  Hang loose and laugh; laughter with a good friend has therapeutic benefits.

Make a decision to treat and care for you.  You deserve the best and all the love in the world.  Remember to keep the cell phones off as pampering is a sacred activity. No distractions allowed. Starting today, schedule some time to pamper you.
